We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas holiday and we look forward to seeing you again on Wednesday 4th January 2023.
Noticeboard:
- You should have received the observations of your child this term via the Tapestry app. Please contact your child’s class teacher if you can’t access them.
- Children need to bring their book bag into school every day. If they do not have it on a Monday, they will not be able to have a new reading book.
- We would like you to support your child to hold their pencil correctly when they are using them at home. Children should be using a tripod grip. Click here to see a BBC Bitesize video about how to hold a pencil.
- Please do not allow your child to play with the resources that are on the Reception patio in the morning. These have been carefully positioned and are there to support your child’s learning during the school day.
Celebrations
This week, the children have enjoyed our whole school enrichment week based on Belle and Sebastian. The children loved going to The Old Vic to watch the performance on Wednesday. Before we went, we predicted what the story would be about from watching a short clip and wrote a list of items that the children would need to take on a cold adventure. Once we returned to the school, the children took part in some follow up work, including using the iPads to draw a picture of the scene or characters.
We sang songs to our Reception friends from Claremont School who have been coming for patio play to wish them a Merry Christmas.
The children enjoyed playing with a texture tray and exploring how different things feel.

The focus this week is PSED. Our theme this term is “Dreams and Goals” and we begin by learning that we can overcome challenges by persevering. We would love to see a challenge that your child has persevered with. Maybe doing up their coat zip by themselves, or learning to read all the common exception words we have learned so far (I, to, the, go, into, no, me, be, we, he, she, was, you, they, all, are, my), or a different challenge of your choice!
You can also send us any moments that you feel are significant in your child’s learning or want to share with your child’s class teachers.
