Year 2 Learning. Term 4, Week 4.

This week:
Monday 11.3.24 Year 2: 11-11.50am SENDCO Coffee Chats:
This is a chance to have an informal chat with our SENDCO, Sue Spaargaren, about anything SEND related. SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.  You do not need to have a child with any specific needs, you may just have questions or concerns or want to find out a bit more about what we do to support children across the school and other services we work with. These drop-in sessions will be held in the Sunflower room.  

Friday 15th March – Red Nose Day – Bring in a donation and wear something red and/or a red nose. Bring in a joke to share. Each class will share one favourite joke in celebration assembly.

Week 5:
Friday 22nd March – Year 2 WOW Day – Space themed. Dress up if you wish!

Week 6:
Last day of term will be our famous ‘Year 2 Spring Bonnet Parade’. There will be a small prize for each class for the entry that catches Mrs.Fricker’s eye! Children can decorate hats/caps at home and bring in their entry on the last day of term.

Spelling:
Session 1: Review apostrophes for contraction
Session 2: Teach the apostrophe for possession
Session 3: Review compound words
CEW for Reading then Spelling: clothes cold could should would whole

Writing:
Create map of climate zones using a key and labels. Collect pictures/resources for their chosen climate zone to prepare their report writing for later in the week.
Create mind map of their chosen climate zone. Make notes on 6 key points to use in their enquiry write up.
Start to write their report on their climate zone using an Opening question and a Concluding exclamatory sentence. To complete next week.

Non- Fiction Texts to support research of climate zones report writing.

Geography Continue models from last week, painting and collage now they are dry. Make labels for these.

PE L3 Static Balance – Postponed from last week due to WBD
