Phonics and Spelling

WritingKey Text – ‘The Egg’, By M P Robertson
Through the week we will be using the text to help with looking at how authors use language to help leave clues for what might happen next in the story and also how we can be surprised by an ending. The work will also build on the work we did from when a dragon visited our school and Henleaze earlier in the term.

What skills will George need to teach the dragon?
Looking at unusual vocabulary and their definitions.
How does the author use subordinating Conjunctions and expanded noun phrases and write some of our own.
Where do you think the dragon has gone and why?
Write a letter to the dragon to wish him well for the future.
