Firework competition
Firework Competition (click here to get a copy). This year there is another exciting opportunity for 2 children in our school to be in charge of starting the fireworks at the Henleaze community firework extravaganza being held at our school on Saturday 9th November. In order to be in with a chance of having this prestigious role, children are invited to create their own firework picture on the template (or A4 paper if you do not have a printer at home) and to hand it to their class teacher by Tuesday 5th November with their name and class clearly written so that Mrs Fricker and Miss Quinn can judge the entries. Winners will be contacted on Friday 8th November with details on the arrangements. Please only enter if you are planning to attend the ticketed event.
Celebrations
We have been on an autumn walk this week. The children collected items and made some wonderful pictures using them. We also enjoyed joining the rest of the school for the harvest festival, where we sang a song and heard about how the generous donations would be used to feed those in need. This term, we have been really impressed with how well the children have learnt the phase 2 phonemes. Please continue to read over the holidays to ensure that children retain their new knowledge.
Star of the Week
Daisy Class – Harry
Buttercup Class – Mikey
Tapestry observation
We are asking parents to contribute to their child’s learning diary (Tapestry) for the first time! We will ask for one observation a week via the blog. You can also send us any moments that you feel are significant in your child’s learning or want to share with your child’s class teachers.
The focus this week is PSED.
Please create an observation and send us a photo or video of something your child is good at. You can also write about it in the comments section. We will celebrate these observations and achievements on our interactive whiteboards during our PSED lesson.
Click the links below to find out how to add observations from different devices.
This week’s learning
